Establishing Multidisciplinary Innovation & Development Centre (MIDC) eco-system has its unique significance for Manipal University. MIDC will bring together various platforms with the help of industry partners and with educational institutes.
Philips and Manipal University have jointly started the program on Clinical Competency Development (CCD) to focus on Development of Smart Examination Imaging Tools (SEIT) using Open source imaging tools like TCl/TK, ITK/ VTK. A lab has been set up by Manipal University at KMC Manipal by the name Medical Imaging Research Suite (MiRS). The objective of the lab is to help the medical application developers reduce lead time for such clinical applications development and do rapid prototyping.
